The 360 Modena: an excellent daily driver

Cavallino 269 features the story of an example nearing the 200,000 km milestone and aging like fine wine (not by chance)

Brian Ebbesen’s 1999 Ferrari 360 Modena is a testament to what happens when passion for cars meets practical use. With 121,600 miles on the clock, this Ferrari is far from a pampered garage queen: the daily traffic in London, countless journeys across Europe, mostly between the UK and Denmark, forged its charisma. Ebbesen, who built a career in fine wine at Christie’s London, has never shied away from driving his Ferrari daily, even using it for work-related tasks, including wine deliveries.

While many Ferrari owners might be cautious about high-mileage driving, this car has effortlessly endured both the routine and the unexpected. When a lorry clipped the rear bumper twice while it was parked, the solution was simply to respray the section and continue on the journey.

From frequent journeys back to Denmark, covering up to 800 miles each way, to scenic drives through Switzerland and Spain, the 360 has proven its worth as a touring machine. With a few repairs and regular maintenance over the years, the car has remained remarkably reliable.

Despite the wear and tear, including the inevitable issue with sticky interior buttons, the 360 continues to shine as a modern classic. For all its high performance and exotic appeal, this Ferrari remains practical, with luggage space for long trips, or for fine wine deliveries.
